Chocolate Oatmeal Cake

1 3/4 c boiling water
1 c rolled oats
1 c packed brown sugar
1 c granulated sugar
1/2 c (1 stick) butter
2 eggs
1 3/4 c all purpose flour
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
2 T baking cocoa
2 c milk chocolate chips (12 oz)
3/4 c walnut halves & pieces chopped

Pout the boiling water over the oats in a large bowl. Let stand for 10 minutes. Add the brown sugar, granulated sugar and butter and stir until the butter melts. Add the eggs and mix well. Stir in 1 c chocolate ships. Pout into a greased and floured 9x13 cake pan. Sprinkle with the remaining chocolate chips and walnuts. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35-450 minutes or until the cake tester comes out clean.

Serves 16-24
